PRODUCTION PROCESSING

The trend of green and sustainable living is becoming more and more popular in modern society, and bamboo is a natural resource that can play an important role in creating eco-friendly and sustainable products. . Products made from bamboo are not only capable of replacing plastic and wood products, but also bring many benefits to the environment and human health. especially these products are handmade and created by the hands of Vietnamese artisans. To learn more about spun bamboo, here are the steps to create a spun bamboo product that we are interested in:

1. Collection and selection of quality bamboo materials

The selection of natural bamboo materials has an important influence on the final quality of the bamboo product

Young bamboo does not provide strong enough bamboo fibers, while too old bamboo can lead to stiff bamboo fibers and affect the necessary elasticity. Heat treatment to give elasticity can also be difficult, and the color of the final product may not be as bright as it should be. For the best quality, bamboo is harvested when it is about 4-5 years old.

For the production of spun bamboo products, the selection of natural bamboo materials is done carefully. Through a strict monitoring and inspection process, bamboo materials are carefully selected by a team of experienced workers. This ensures that raw materials meet a high standard before entering the production phase.

Once it imported to the company, the bamboo is then placed in a water- mud mixture for a while. It is placed in this water-mud mixture to remove the sugar content from the bamboo. Soaking in the mud for this length of time also helps ensure the bamboo will not mold, and it helps controls the bamboo from insect infestation.

The bamboo is then taken out of the water -mud mixture and then left to dry in the sunlight. The material is then ready with the light honey brown color to be split and used for spun bamboo production.

2. Manipulation of separating bamboo and planing

After harvesting, fresh bamboo plants are selected and classified based on the diameter of the bamboo tube body, the purpose is to facilitate the division of spokes and optimize the use of raw materials for diverse products. Next, the bamboo is cut into lengths suitable for production specifications and then separated into spokes along the trunk.

These bamboo slats continue through the first cellular step, the process of removing the outer green shell and the soft inner layer. Each bamboo sample is also processed to become lath. This produces the best quality bamboo laths and it is the quality of these laths that has an important impact on the final quality of the product.

All humus and data exchange from the bamboo processing are used in an implicit manner, providing heat for the absorption phases of the production process. This step not only helps to reduce the amount of waste, but also facilitates a friendly and sustainable production environment.

3. spinning bamboo laths and conduct curving

After the bamboo  have been roughed to remove the outer green skin and soft inner layer, they are put into the machine to conduct the blanching process. The goal is to turn them into long and thin soft bamboo laths. Importantly, not to grind them into a powder like in MDF processing technology. This process helps to maintain the original bamboo structure.

Especially at this step, each family of artisans will have a hand spinning bamboo machine, which will help spun the bamboo laths into a curve, and then make the bamboo laths softer and easier to assemble. Usually, they are made in the flat form, and once the flat form is completed, it is then bent or drawn over the ceramic or bamboo laths form for the required shape and size. When the spun bamboo is placed on the mold and the shape has been formed, the pieces are dipped into the glue mixture again and dried nature. This whole spinning, gluing and drying process usually takes place in spun bamboo handicraft village households.

The process of spinning bamboo laths requires technical precision along with practical experience. After completing this step, it will be transferred to the next processing stages.

4. Using adhesives in bamboo products

In the production process of spun bamboo , the use of adhesives is an important step to bond the bamboo slats together and form the final product. Adhesives are applied to reinforce the structure and ensure a strong bond between the bamboo layers.

Choosing the right glue:

Choosing the right glue is very important to ensure the stability and safety of bamboo products. The glue needs to be waterproof, moisture-proof and resistant to mechanical loads in the environment of use. In bamboo products, glue accounts for about 5% by weight and Thanh Nam SJC is always interested in safety of use and environmentally friendly green products. Glue quality is a decisive factor affecting product quality. Our products are used glue from reputable glue manufacturers in the world to ensure the lowest emissions and the best bonding.

Glue penetration process:

Bamboo fibers, after having gone through the denaturation process, are often permeated with glue to ensure that the glue can penetrate into the gaps between the bamboo laths and create strong bonds. This process is usually done by soaking the product in glue

Check quality:

The final product, after being bonded with glue, needs to go through a quality check to ensure that the glue bond is of good quality and meets the required standards.

5. Humidity control – Ensure the stability of bamboo products

Bamboo, like other forest resources, is affected by moisture. When humidity increases, bamboo can expand, and when humidity decreases, it can contract. To make bamboo products with high stability, it is very important to control the humidity and lower it during the production process. This is usually done through the use of a drying room.

Humidity control process:

During the production process, the moisture content of raw materials and finished products should be carefully controlled. The use of a drying room helps to regulate humidity and ensures that the final product has a stable moisture content and is suitable for the environmental conditions of use.

Product stability:

The moisture content of the final product plays an important role in its stability. A change in humidity can cause major problems, for example when bamboo products are installed in an area with high humidity after being manufactured in a drier area. This can lead to unwanted expansion of the product and compromise its stability and aesthetics.

Quality control:

To ensure the high quality of the final bamboo product, it is important to control and monitor the moisture content of the raw materials and the finished product. This process should be performed at each stage of production and for each batch of product to ensure that the final product meets the moisture and stability requirements.

6. Final product processing mode

Finishing and Coloring and styling the final product

After the basic processing steps, to create a complete book product, the final step is the process of finishing, creating colors and designs, so that the product meets all requirements and wishes of customers.

Spray paint and create color:

Depending on the type of product and customer requirements, bamboo products can be spray painted or colored to create a beautiful aesthetic appearance. This process requires a high level of technique and finesse to ensure that the colors and patterns are expressed as intended and in accordance with the design style.

Styling:

In order for the final product of the final bamboo product to show its uniqueness and class, the styling process is important. Design can include cutting, grinding, creating patterns, textures or creating delicate lines to create a beautiful and unique product.

Summary:

The finishing step and creating colors and designs for the final product is a process to create the most perfect and meticulous, so that the product meets all requirements for quality, image and aesthetics. These steps along with the basic processing ensure that the final spun bamboo product is a beautiful work of art and fully meets the customer’s expectations.
